ART ON FIRST: An Artful Life, Solo Exhibition John Palombo
Monday, March 31 - Monday, April 28, 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Opening Reception: Friday, April 4, 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Currently featured at ART on FIRST are nature inspired paintings by John Palombo. With just enough challenges growing up to gain some deep colors and spectrums in his life, John has made use of the follies and torture of being human and turned them into joy and happiness by finding something that truly speaks to his soul - visiting remote natural areas and painting. John loves color and creating color. His focus has always been on landscapes of Southern Oregon, particularly Southeastern Oregon. When creating a composition, John's interest is to translate the magic that he sees in the world and in nature onto his surface. With this, he hopes to inspire his viewers to find the same magic, or something that is personal to just them.

Trinity Ashland will offer the opportunity to reflect on Jesus鈥 final day in Jerusalem. The spiritual practice known as Way of the Cross, Stations of the Cross and the Via Dolorosa has it roots in the intentions of pilgrims to the Holy Land over many hundreds of years. The Episcopal Book of Occasional Services lays out two versions of the Way of the Cross. This year we will use the Scriptural Way of the Cross. Come, be a pilgrim the first six of the seven Fridays in Lent. In the Sanctuary. Street parking

鈥淟iving with Fire鈥 art exhibition is a collaborative presentation at three local art galleries opening on Friday, April 4th during the Annual Redding Cultural Cruise. Developed by guest curator, Aundi Taylor, as a part of her MFA thesis, 鈥渢his juried group show, created in partnership across Redding art venues, is my call for connection (...). It鈥檚 an artistic reminder that community unites us in difficult times. The Northern California artists you see here share their interpretations of what it means to live with fire and adapt to a changing world. Their creative works depict literal and metaphorical explorations of lengthening fire seasons, loss, trauma, recovery, regeneration, fortitude, resilience, or regeneration in the context of living in a fire-prone and fire-adapted region. As a viewer in this space, you are invited to connect with the creative brilliance of these artists who see the world intensely and soulfully.鈥
鈥淟iving with Fire鈥 is hosted simultaneously at North Valley Art Leauge - Carter House gallery, the Redding Municipal Airport gallery and at Shasta County Arts Council - Old City Hall. The exhibition features 37 local artists, for information where each artist鈥檚 work can be found, visit www.shastaartscouncil.org. The show opens on Friday, April 4th, with receptions from 4pm to 8pm. 鈥淟iving with Fire鈥 will be available to visitors at the abovementioned locations through April 26.
Curator鈥檚 talk and storytelling workshop will be held on Saturday, April 26 at Old City Hall.
