We are a group of professional actors based in Southern Oregon working in the style of Commedia Dell'Arte. This ancient form of Italian clowning birthed slapstick comedy and inspired Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. The same archetypal characters Commedia performers created in the 1600s are recognizable in modern sitcoms because the form is old, but the stories are timeless. Young lovers, cowardly captains, simple servants, and grouchy old men… with an eclectic cast of characters, anything could happen, and Zanni Nation has it all!
