The South Coast Folk Society invites all dancers, and would-be dancers, to our free fitness class every Monday morning at 9:00AM in North Bend. Women and men, young and old, are all encouraged to join the fun as we learn a variety of invigorating beginner-friendly dances from the United States and around the world. Singles, couples, and drop-ins are all welcome. No prior experience or partner needed.
We meet every Monday for this popular social gathering. Each class is special, so please come when you can. Skilled instructors will guide you every step of the way. The dances are easy to learn and appropriate for all ages. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy beautiful music and joyful movement in a friendly social environment.
We meet at the North Bend Senior Center for this free weekly class. The center is located at 1470 Airport Lane in North Bend and open to all ages. Casual clothes are recommended, and comfortable dancing shoes. The class features dances from America, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Dance styles include circle dances, line dances, partner dances and sets. All are basic beginner level dances, fun to do and easy to learn. Parent Project is a 10-week series where we go over topics like improving family relationships, using effective discipline to improve school attendance and performance, reduce substance use and negative peer influences, and how to address destructive behavior. It is an opportunity to meet with other parents in similar situations in a judgement free zone and begin to develop a new support system. When you feel like you have tried everything and nothing is working, we can help.
Fortuna Teen Court will be hosting this 10-week series at the Gene Lucas Community Center (3000 Newburg Rd) in Fortuna. Classes will begin 03/18/2025 and be held every Tuesday from 6-8pm. The final class will be on 05/27/25.
