Godwit Days Spring Migration Bird Festival - Arcata, CA
Join us for our annual birding and nature festival amongst the majestic coastal redwoods of Northern CA and beyond! We will host over 70 field trips, workshops, and events including keynote lectures, a banquet, a silent auction, and family activities. Visit educational and retail vendor booths in our main hall, open free to the public. View over 500 student bird art entries lining the venue walls. Enjoy tasty food by Familia Cafe! On Saturday, April 19, Chillido, a Western Screech Owl, will be onsite from 12 pm to 3:30 pm.
On Friday, April 18, enjoy our free welcome reception (with light refreshments) and listen to a presentation by author and ecologist Michael Kauffmann on "The Klamath Mountains: A Natural History with Michael Kauffmann". Then on Saturday, April 19, following the banquet and closing of the silent auction, join us for a presentation by author, illustrator, and speaker Rosemary Mosco about "Connecting Through Comics: How Humor and Art Make Birding Better". She is the illustrator behind Bird and Moon Comics!
There is something for all ages and experience levels - see you there!
