The Case For Paying To Spruce Up National Parks

Plane777/Wikimedia

Before the pandemic shut them down for a time, a phrase often attached to U.S. National Parks was "loved to death." So many people visit some of the parks that wear-and-tear is eroding the very experience that people travel great distances to see.

By several estimates, it would take close to $12 Billion to bring the parks up to a state of good repair. The campaign at the Pew Charitable Trusts works to bring the situation to public attention.

Marcia Argust, Project Director, talks about the intentions and directions of the effort.
