The Josephine County Oregon Board of Commissioners has voted to keep the county fairgrounds open through the end of the fiscal year.
The commissioners also voted yesterday to go ahead with the 2014 fair in Grants Pass, which will be the county's 100th.
The Daily Courier reports the board also approved a $20,000 economic development grant to create a marketing plan for the facility.
The commissioners decided in September that the fairgrounds needed to be self-sustaining or else the facility will be closed. Since then, supporters have raised $70,000 in donations and developed a business plan to keep the fairgrounds going.
Supporters have been given another six months to prove their plan is working.
