As a child, Carper (who was nicknamed 鈥淒addy鈥� years ago by her bandmates) immersed herself in the sounds of Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, and other greats from her parents鈥� collection, but it was a specific gift from her father - a full collection of Jimmie Rodgers recordings - that sparked the fire behind the sound Carper has developed.
The new album Daddy's Country Gold is a compilation album of sorts -- a collection of Carper's best material drawn from across the various bands she maintains.
