The red-belted polypore mushroom is among five species of fungi that have been shown to improve the honeybee's immune system.

Honeybees are dealing with a deadly infestation of virus-carrying varroa mites, and for decades beekeepers have struggled to protect exposed bees. We check in with Ken Christensen to learn about how mushrooms may provide the cure have been waiting for.
