The small, rarely-seen member of the weasel family known as may be even rarer in the Northwest because of the prevalence of here. Biologists in California have found in fishers there, and believe the animals may be eating prey that has consumed the poison placed near marijuana seedlings. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is looking for more information about this possibility in order to consider listing the fisher as threatened. Such a listing would provide more protections under the Endangered Species Act.
