Democratic Convention Special Coverage

JPR continues its coverage of Election 2016 with special coverage of the Democratic National Convention July 25-28.  The Convention special will be hosted from Philadelphia in partnership between NPR and PBS.  Coverage will include live podium speeches, interviews with newsmakers and delegates, and analysis from NPR and PBS Newshour reporters and editors inside and outside the convention.

PBS NewsHour’s Judy Woodruff and Gwen Ifill will anchor the special coverage each evening, along with NPR host Rachel Martin. NPR’s National Political Correspondent Mara Liasson, Senior Editor Ron Elving and Political Editor Domenico Montanaro will be featured analysts. NPR’s Congressional Reporter Susan Davis will report from the floor along with PBS NewsHour’s Correspondents John Yang and Lisa Desjardins.

Convention coverage can be heard each afternoon beginning at 5pm and will generally follow the schedule below. (Subject to change)

5pm-8pm - Classics & News / News & Information

As FM Network Program Director and ÀÏ·ò×Ó´«Ã½ Director, Eric oversees many aspects of JPR's broadcast day. He still hosts the occasional Open Air or classical music shift, and is the driving force behind JPR Live Sessions - our popular series of live in-studio music performances and conversations.
Public media is at a critical moment.

Recent threats to federal funding are challenging the way stations like JPR provide service to small communities in rural parts of the country.
