Law enforcement officials are investigating a series of incidents where vehicles have been struck by bullets along a section of I-5 in Southern Oregon.

Oregon State Police believe the latest shooting is linked to several previous incidents along a stretch of I-5 in Douglas, Josephine and Jackson Counties.

Oregon State Police report that a female motorist was struck by a bullet around 9:45 Wednesday night while driving northbound on I-5 between Central Point and Gold Hill.

Since mid-May, authorities say, 鈥渟everal鈥 vehicles have been hit by bullets while driving along Interstate 5 in Douglas, Josephine and Jackson Counties. Until Wednesday night, there had been no injuries.

The victim was transported to the hospital, treated and released. No further information has been made available.

OSP believes the latest shooting is linked to the previous shootings along that stretch of I-5. They ask that anyone with information about this or the previous shootings get in contact with investigators at the OSP Southern Command Center at 1-800-442-2068.
