Join us this Thursday at 2:00 for a JPR Live Session with Fantastic Cat.
Rolling Stone called Fantastic Cat 鈥渢hat supergroup you need to know.鈥
Brian Dunne, Mike Montali, Anthony D鈥橝mato and Don Dilego each had their own projects before deciding that they鈥檇 like to see what it was like to do the same amount of work for 录 the pay. Fantastic Cat prides itself on being serious about making music, but never lets that get in the way of having fun at the same time 鈥 like by taking band photos wearing custom-made cat masks.
In this group, the four singer/songwriters take turns on different instruments including drums and share songwriting and lead vocal duties.
Their first album was the, as they say, 鈥渁ward eligible鈥 Very Best of Fantastic Cat. This year they released their follow-up Now That鈥檚 What I Call Fantastic Cat.
Their song So Glad You Made It, made several "song of the Summer" and includes guest vocals by Adam Duritz of Counting Crows.
The band takes the stage Thursday night at Fry Family Farm in Medford. Opening the show is Fox and Bones 鈥 a duo of offbeat folk musicians with a retro-tinged, soul-stirring, modern-vintage bent. Showtime is 7pm. Find tickets at ashlandfolkcollective.com
