As of Monday afternoon, the had destroyed 155 buildings and damaged 22 more in the Shasta Lake area. includes photos of each building that officials were able to locate.
Although the fire spread quickly during its first two days, growth has slowed recently. It鈥檚 more than 8,500 acres large. Crews have established containment lines around half of the fire鈥檚 perimeter.
Cal Fire officials say residents who are returning to their homes near the fire area need to remember that it鈥檚 still an active fire.
鈥淥nce you return to your home, look out for any smoldering or hotspots around the edge and perimeter of your home,鈥 Clark says. 鈥淎lso, be aware of any power lines and also crews that are working in the area.鈥
Clark says winds are difficult to predict and they can change at a moment鈥檚 notice, so people near the fire area need to be ready to evacuate any time.
