Thousands of people in our region are getting a crash course in recovering from disaster. The Almeda fire alone destroyed more than 2,000 homes in Jackson County, forcing their former occupants to figure out a way ahead in the world.
Most of them have no experience in such things. Fortunately, lots of organizations do. teaches at the University of Oregon and heads up the based there.
