She's a former senior fellow at the Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism at Brandeis University. Her writing has appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, and on the cover of Smithsonian magazine. Her book, Your Baby, Your Way, has been called a "searing and well-researched expos茅" by midwife and author Ina May Gaskin. She lives in Southern Oregon with her husband and four children.
